Anthurium regale x magnificum

Anthurium regale x magnificum grows from a firm central crown and produces broad velvet leaves with pale veins. The regale side shows in the velvet texture, while magnificum can bring broader leaves and firmer petioles.

New leaves open soft and lighter in colour, then deepen and firm as they mature.

Velvet leaves and petiole structure

  • Broad cordate velvet leaves
  • Pale primary veins
  • Upright crown-forming growth
  • Larger mature leaves after root establishment
  • Some plants may show more angular petioles from the magnificum side
  • Leaves can vary in width, vein contrast and petiole strength

Anthurium regale x magnificum parentage

Anthurium regale is native to northeastern Peru and contributes large velvet foliage with pale venation. Anthurium magnificum is native to Colombia and is known for broad, strongly veined leaves and firmer petioles.

Some plants grow wider leaves or firmer petioles than others.

When it flowers, it produces the usual Anthurium spathe and spadix. Mature plants carry broad velvet leaves with clear pale veins.

Anthurium regale x magnificum care

  • Light: Bright filtered light is best. Strong overhead sun can mark velvet foliage.
  • Watering: Let the upper layer begin to dry before watering again. Keep the lower part of the pot lightly moist, but never packed wet.
  • Substrate: Bark and coco chips form the base of the mix; pumice or perlite keeps the lower pot draining and airy.
  • Pot choice: Select a draining pot with enough weight for the mature crown. Increase pot size gradually to keep moisture even through the pot.
  • Temperature: Keep the plant in the warm end of normal indoor growing conditions, especially during active leaf production.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity supports smoother new leaves and fewer dry margins.
  • Feeding: A diluted complete fertiliser during active growth is enough. Heavy feeding can leave salts in the mix.
  • Repotting: Repot once roots have filled the pot or the mix has become compact.
  • Crown position: Keep the crown above the mix.
  • Handling: Let new leaves harden before cleaning or moving them. Soft velvet foliage marks quickly.
  • Placement: A steady position during leaf expansion helps the new blade open cleanly.

Common growth problems

  • Brown tips or margins: Dry air, uneven watering, salt buildup or old compacted mix often cause brown tips.
  • Several soft yellow leaves: Soft yellow leaves often point to roots sitting too wet.
  • Small new leaves: Small new leaves often come from weak roots or too little light.
  • Leaf deformation: Pests, dry cataphyll tissue, sudden humidity changes or physical pressure can deform a new leaf.
  • Loose crown: The plant may not be rooted firmly yet, or the pot may be too large.
  • Weak pale growth: Move the plant gradually into brighter filtered light and keep the roots warm.

Roots and leaf size

This hybrid produces larger leaves once the roots are settled in an open mix. Larger leaves develop when roots are active and the plant has steady warmth and filtered light.

Pet and handling safety

Set Anthurium regale x magnificum out of reach of pets and children. Like other Anthuriums, it contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth and throat if ingested. Sap from damaged tissue may also irritate skin.

Botanical name

Regale means royal or regal. Magnificum means magnificent or splendid. The genus name Anthurium refers to the spadix.

DO NOT USE THE PROVIDED SCREWS
Color: Black
The screws they include are so cheap and they start to strip halfway in (even with pilot holes). The holders themselves are fine but now now the screws can go in or get out so it's either destroy the product or live with it. I used a quality screw on the one side and it worked just fine. Poor quality and not very thoughtful. If you buy, get your own screws.

Exactly what I needed for my bathroom refresh.
Color: B. Rustic Brown - Americana Farmhouse Style, Number Of Shelves: 2, Size: 22.5inches, Color: B. Rustic Brown - Americana Farmhouse Style, Number Of Shelves: 2, Size: 22.5inches
I bought these floating shelves in the color Rustic Brown to replace a bulky storage shelf that was making my bathroom feel cramped, and they completely transformed the space. The wood finish looks much more expensive than I expected, and once installed they gave the bathroom a clean, modern, spa-like feel without taking up visual space. Installation was straightforward overall. I mounted one screw in the center into a stud and used drywall anchors for the remaining hardware, and the shelves feel very sturdy. They sit flush against the wall and don’t sag or wobble. I especially love how slim they are while still being deep enough to hold everyday bathroom items, decor, candles, skincare, and small baskets. The color worked perfectly with my bathroom vanity and mirror trim, and the floating design instantly made the room look more organized and intentional. Huge upgrade for a small space. Definitely recommend if you want functional storage that also looks elevated and minimalist.
