Water spinach seeds (Ipomoea aquatica) produce the fast-growing leafy green known as rau muống in Vietnamese and ong choy in Chinese—a staple stir-fry vegetable with hollow stems and tender leaves. This 2-pack provides 2,000 seeds total (2 packets × 1,000 seeds each). Harvest begins just 45–60 days after sowing, and plants regrow repeatedly for continuous picking.

Water spinach—rau muống, ong choy, kangkong—is one of the fastest-growing leafy greens you can plant. The hollow stems and tender leaves are a staple of Southeast Asian cooking, typically stir-fried with garlic, fermented bean curd, or shrimp paste. This 2-pack of 1,000-seed packets (2,000 seeds total) gives you enough for a substantial crop that keeps on giving. Cut above the first few nodes and it regrows; you'll be harvesting the same plants all summer long. Thrives in moist soil or even shallow water.

Kang Kong Rau muong Ong Choy is a productive garden favorite that delivers fresh, nutrient-rich harvests you can enjoy all season long. Easy to grow in containers, raised beds, or traditional gardens — perfect for home cooks and gardeners who want the unmatched flavor of homegrown produce.

This variety thrives in USDA zones 3-11 depending on your climate, and adapts beautifully to indoor and outdoor growing. Start from seed for the most rewarding gardening experience — there is nothing quite like nurturing a plant from its very first sprout.

🌱 Step-by-Step Growing Guide

1. Seed Prep and Sowing: Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost, or direct sow after soil warms to 60F+. Soak larger seeds overnight for faster germination.

2. Planting and Container Setup: Full sun (6-8+ hours daily). Use rich, well-draining soil amended with compost. Space according to variety — containers (10-20 gallon) or raised beds work great.

3. Germination and Early Care: Expect sprouts in 5-14 days at 65-80F. Keep soil evenly moist. Thin seedlings to proper spacing — crowded plants produce less.

4. Growth and Maintenance: Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize every 3-4 weeks with balanced organic fertilizer. Watch for common pests and use companion planting.

5. Harvesting: Harvest regularly when produce reaches desired size — frequent picking encourages continued production. Morning harvest gives the freshest, crispest results.

💡 Pro Tips for Every State

  • Midwest and Northeast: Start indoors in March-April for strong transplants. Use cold frames or row covers to extend the growing season.
  • South and Southwest: Direct sow once soil warms above 60F. Provide consistent irrigation in summer heat for best production.
  • Container and Balcony Growers: Grow in 10-20 gallon containers on sunny balconies. Cherry and compact varieties are perfect for small spaces.

🍳 Easy Recipes and Creative Uses

  • Garden-Fresh Salad: Harvest and toss together a nutrient-rich salad with crisp leaves, herbs, and a light vinaigrette
  • Homemade Stir-Fry or Soup: Dice fresh garden vegetables into quick stir-fries, soups, or one-pot meals for healthy weeknight dinners
  • Pickling & Preserving: Preserve your harvest by pickling, fermenting, or freezing — enjoy homegrown flavors all year round

📋 Care and Storage

  • Store unused seeds in a cool, dry place — sealed container in the fridge extends viability 2-3+ years
  • Water consistently — morning watering prevents fungal issues and keeps plants hydrated through the day
  • Mulch around plants to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature
  • Check your USDA hardiness zone at planting time for the best results in your specific region

🌿 Companion Planting Guide

Maximize your garden yield with strategic companion planting. This variety thrives when planted alongside compatible species that share similar soil pH, water requirements, and sun exposure needs. Consider planting in a polyculture arrangement where nitrogen-fixing companions enrich the soil naturally, while aromatic herbs nearby help deter common garden pests without chemical intervention. Rotate planting beds annually to prevent soil nutrient depletion and break pest cycles. Three Sisters planting (corn, beans, squash) inspired arrangements work exceptionally well in raised bed and container setups for maximizing small-space productivity.

📅 Seasonal Planting Calendar

Strategic seasonal planning ensures maximum productivity from your garden throughout the entire year. Start cool-season crops (lettuce, spinach, peas, radishes) 4-6 weeks before your last frost date for spring harvest, then succession plant every 2-3 weeks for continuous harvests. Transition to warm-season varieties (tomatoes, peppers, squash) after all frost danger has passed and soil temperatures reach 60°F or above. Extend your growing season by 4-8 weeks using cold frames, hoop houses, or floating row covers that protect crops from early fall frosts. Plan a fall garden by starting cool-season crops again in mid-to-late summer for autumn and early winter harvest. Cover crops like crimson clover or winter rye planted in empty beds during dormant months prevent erosion, suppress weeds, and fix nitrogen naturally, preparing the soil for next season's planting without synthetic fertilizers.

Loving it so far!
Color: White, Color: White
02 Nov 2025 I've only used this twice and I already love it. My main reason for buying it is for protein hot chocolate I drink twice a day. I previously made it at the stove and that took 13 minutes of constant mixing to reach 160°. My hot chocolate is 1 cup of milk, 1 tbsp each cacao powder and panela (sugar), 1-2 tbsp collagen powder, vanilla extract, and 1 whole egg. I premix everything before pouring it into the frother because, while it may be able to handle the powders, there's no way that whisk will be able to break the whole egg enough to thoroughly blend it before it starts cooking. I'm totally fine premixing the night before and heating it in the morning. I made the first batch this morning with 2 cups of milk doubling only the cacao and sugar which brought it to just below the top max line, and it came out perfect. It was smooth and there was no burnt taste. I used the recommended hot chocolate attachments, lowest froth setting, and 160° temp setting. I had almost no froth in my hot chocolate which was perfect. I removed the pitcher as soon as it was done to prevent any burning. I checked the temp with a thermometer and the temp was actually 165°. I don't really know if that would impact the taste if there was less milk. For the 2 cups, it was still perfect. I do wish there was a little more temp control like a 150° or 155° setting. I also wish it was able to give you the temp as it was heating in case you want to pull it off just before it hit the set temp. The bottom right button is superfluous. It helps with the foam setting, but you can also simply press each of those buttons directly. Cleaning is super easy, just remove the pitcher and attachments. I love that the attachments are magnetic, but I recommend taking them out before pouring because the magnets aren't that strong. All in all, great for the price and perfect for my needs.

Works great with soy milk
Amazing steamer with high volume capacity. I can make large lattes. I love that it let's you choose your temperature. I use soy milk, and it works perfectly every time. When using at max temp, only a tiny bit of soy milk gets a little burnt on the bottom, and it scrubs right off. Since the little whipping tool comes off on the inside, it cleans very easily. I love that the little whipping tool is magnetically attached, too. It's super easy to work with and very secure. My 8 year old uses this all on her own without issue, which proves how easy it is. Highly recommend.

Great frother choice!
I love this thing! As a former barista, this frother does a wonderful job! I've done hot and cold foam and they held up great! Used oat milk once and that did a great job foaming up! It can take a few minutes for the foam, so when I start my coffee, I start the foam, too. It's also dishwasher safe, which I love.

Burns On The Bottom
The chocolate setting takes forever. The milk burns in the same spot on the cup no matter how I try and rotate the cup during the heating process. I expected more from the reviews.
