Raven® ZZ Zamioculcas ‘Dowon’ 

Raven® ZZ Zamioculcas ‘Dowon’ (PP30,035 Propagation Prohibited) has taken the houseplant world by storm! It’s no wonder why: This naturally occurring mutation of a regular ZZ plant features striking foliage. Our Plant Hunter first acquired it in early 2015, and we have been working on propagating this slow-growing beauty ever since. Raven was found in Asia (and patented by its discoverer, who has granted us exclusive rights to propagate it in North America), but the species is native to areas of Africa. Though you might not guess by looking at it, Raven® ZZ Zamioculcas ‘Dowon’ is in the aroid family (Araceae) and related to trendy plants like monstera, pothos, and philodendron.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.

They are wonderful. After six months of chewing and chasing and playing with a Belgian Malinois, the two that I’ve gotten out are still in great condition. The bright color makes them easier to find, so none have been permanently lost yet. They are bouncier and a little bit lighter weight compared to the Kong balls of the same size, which I honestly appreciate because my maligator likes to shoot them at my feet. So far the material seems high quality and I feel safe letting the dog chew on it for hours on end. The 8 pack was cheaper than 2 Kong balls. A great deal for a great product!!
