The Areca Palm Plant is a slow-growing plant and makes a great addition indoors. Areca palms need a humid environment. This plant will come in a 1-inch net pot. Please do not remove the plant from the net pot; plant it directly in a larger pot. Do not overwater the plant. Also, check out our workshops for more details.

  3. Watering – When the top layer of the soil feels dry
  4. Sunlight – Bright indirect sunlight
PLANT DESCRIPTION
  1. Difficulty Level - Easy
  2. Full Plant Height - Up to 8 feet
  3. Leaf color - green
  4. Type – Plant / Tree seed
  5. Feed - Vermicompost for nutrients every week, Seaweed once a month for greener leaves, and Epsom salt for better blooming once a month (requires fertilizing from spring to early fall and do not feed during fall and winter)
  6. Watering – Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out before watering (don't allow soil to dry out completely in between waterings)
  7. Soil – Moist but well-drained
  8. Sunlight – Bright indirect sunlight
  9. Suitable Temperature – 70°F – 80°F
  10. Season - All season
HOW TO PLANT A SAPLING
  1. Take a sapling along with the net pot and choose the appropriate size of the container for your plant.
  2. Seal the holes of the pot at the bottom.
  3. Pour potting soil more than half of the size of the pot.
  4. Then make a hole with your finger in the center of the potting soil and place your sapling along with the net pot.
  5. Cover it with soil again and water thoroughly.

Pretty hard to clean

We've had this for about a week now. I have 2 dogs, one small one about 55lb. I bought this for my big girl, but lil man is determined to get the best of this toy. Usually they don't both go after the same toys, so this is interesting. The trouble is, neither one of them can get all the treats out if something makes it all the way down into the crevice. It's surprisingly deep. The up side is that they'll try for quite a while before giving up. The down side is even if you put it in the top rack of the dishwasher, something stuck deep in there isn't going anywhere until you dig it out yourself. I tried a plastic knife but it broke the second time I used it in there. I wound up using the metal handle of a reusable straw cleaner. Which then I had to wash that, too. Then it needs to dry overnight before it can be used again. All in all, the dogs like it fine, it's gross to scrape out and wash, takes longer than most toys to dry, and I have the feeling that will eventually cause me to pass it to someone else's dog long before my two have gotten tired of it. At this point I'm pulling out of the toy rotation for a week or two because I'm not ready to clean it a third time.
