Ficus pumila Quercifolia

String of Frogs is a variety of Creeping Fig (Ficus pumila, also known as Ficus repens), which is native to areas of China and Japan. While it has similar care needs to traditional Creeping Fig, it has a distinct appearance with many tiny, frog-shaped leaves. It’s also noticeably slower-growing than regular Creeping Fig as a houseplant.

Grow this small houseplant in a medium to bright spot for best plant performance. Ideally, this is within 2 to 3 feet of an unobstructed east- or west-facing window (or the equivalent if you use plant lights). Water her as the top 10 to 25 percent or so of the potting mix dries to the touch; String of Frogs isn’t as drought tolerant as many other common houseplants. That said, do take care to avoid overwatering. It thrives in average to above-average household temperatures; keep it above 55F for best results. Average to above-average relative humidity levels are preferred. You may with to augment low humidity conditions to keep it looking its best.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.

you won’t regret it
absolute life saver on a winter trip to austria, and has become my go-to every day since! even before my trip i was struggling with chapped lips and this healed them and protected them through winter sports better than anything i’ve ever used, and i’m a lip balm snob. smells amazing, feels amazing. 10/10!

Wow! So moisturizing!
OMGosh, this feels so good on your lips! I just got this today so I’ll have to update if the moisture doesn’t last. But so far it feels nice. I did have a slight issue with it melting onto itself in the one day it took to get to me. See photos. The tube itself was slightly concave because of the melting. But is still intact. So far though I love this stuff!

Pretty good stuff
Not a miracle cream, but I've certainly paid more for worse lip balm. The tallow is helping keep my lips hydrated, and it feels great when applied. Just got Invisalign, and I struggle with hydration normally, but this is helping keep the lips soft and smooth, and is miles ahead of the cheap drugstore brands that dry more than they help.

Worth a try, I guess.
Picked up this beef tallow lip balm for my husband. We had the worst winter and everything was so dry. He is used to using the waxy sticks you buy at the big box stores to treat his dry lips. He has been using tallow and I noticed this lip balm and thought he might like it. The stick is quite big. Thicker than the normal waxy stick you might buy at the store. In line with some of the larger sticks I have seen in the stores by some of the men's lines that are out there. He used it often and found it to work well. Did it work better than some of the waxy sticks from the store, he didn't think so but it was on par with those. He does like that it is natural. He told me that he would apply it and his lips would feel good and it would last for a while and just like any other product he would try, his lips would be dry again after a while. I would say that generally, it sounds like an average product but it's natural. Worth a try, I guess!
