The huge leaves can measure as much as 2’ wide, & are topped with huge 8 – 12” fragrant flowers. The flowers turn to ornamental seed pods that are popularly used dried in arrangements or potpourris. These are the large-seeded nelumbo species whose seeds measure an average of 18mm long.
