Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Summer Sunset') is a stunning evergreen ground cover known for its vibrant variegated foliage in shades of orange, red, yellow, and green. Unlike traditional jasmine varieties, this cultivar is grown primarily for its colorful leaves rather than its flowers, creating a striking display throughout the year. Its dense, trailing habit makes it perfect for garden borders, containers, hanging baskets, and erosion control on slopes.

Distinctive Features

Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine features a unique mix of warm hues that change with the seasons, intensifying in cooler weather. The small, glossy leaves emerge with bright orange and red tones before maturing to a blend of gold, green, and copper. While it occasionally produces small, fragrant white flowers, its primary appeal lies in its foliage.

Growing Conditions

  • Sun Exposure: Thrives in full sun to partial shade; deeper color develops in more sunlight.
  • Soil: Prefers well-draining, moderately fertile soil but tolerates a range of soil types.
  • Water: Moderate watering; drought-tolerant once established.
  • USDA Hardiness Zones: 7-11; can handle mild frosts with protection.

Ideal Uses

  • Ground Cover: Creates a dense, weed-suppressing carpet of colorful foliage.
  • Containers & Hanging Baskets: Cascades beautifully over pot edges.
  • Slopes & Erosion Control: Helps stabilize soil in landscape designs.
  • Accent Plant: Adds a bright, variegated touch to garden borders.

Low Maintenance Care

Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine is easy to grow and requires minimal upkeep.

  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist during establishment; drought-tolerant once mature.
  • Pruning: Trim lightly to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth.
  • Fertilizing: Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring for vigorous growth.
  • Winter Care: Provide mulch in colder regions for root protection.
  • Propagation: Easily propagated by cuttings or layering.

Why Choose Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine?

With its vibrant, ever-changing foliage and spreading growth habit, Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine is an excellent choice for adding year-round color and texture to landscapes.

  • Seasonal Color Change: Leaves transition through brilliant hues of red, orange, yellow, and green.
  • Low Maintenance: Drought-tolerant and easy to care for once established.
  • Versatile Placement: Ideal for ground cover, containers, and erosion control.
  • Focal Point: Adds stunning color and contrast to garden beds and landscapes.

For gardeners looking for a low-maintenance, colorful ground cover with year-round appeal, Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Summer Sunset') is an outstanding choice.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

ABSOLUTELY A MUST for Omegaverse Girls!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!! Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.
