These have been professionally restored, but like all vintage pieces, they show signs of wear due to prior use.
From the original advertisement:
"MONTEREY" is forward-thinking and imaginative, an exciting new idea in contemporary modern furniture with a future. . . a mellow blending of Scandinavian influence with our own American conception of contemporary design. Decorative inlays with inlaid Rosewood designs that serve as drawer pulls, horizontal interestingly placed wood drawer pulls, sculptured legs and aprons, all tend to give Bassett's new "MONTEREY" group a fresh look. "MONTEREY" in a new Bassett color called Carmel Walnut brings out the beauty of the Walnut veneers. Pieces of generous proportions, attention to details in the mirrors, beds, dresser bases, night stand and chest, all tend to make "MONTEREY" one of Bassett's outstanding bedroom suites.
