Nevertheless, the Moris code and the puzzle within one of the DOCs were delightful touches that added depth to the novel.

We Used to Live Here definitely nails the creeping sense of dread and paranoia throughout the story. Things finally picked up around the 70% mark, but the ending left me wanting much more explanation and payoff than we as the readers received. Overall, this was an eerie, anxiety-inducing read with a fantastic atmosphere, even if the execution didn’t fully land for me.
