This is an exceptional quality silk velvet lounging robe or dressing gown that dates to the 1930s.  The robe has padded shoulders, a small gathered “puff” at the top of the “mutton-like” sleeve, in typical late 30s style and a V shaped neckline that is trimmed in metallic gold lace.  The end of the sleeves have zippers and a metallic lace insert.  The robe does up with two ties, each one affixed to the opposite edge of the robe.  The longer one is affixed to the left side and goes through a slot at the right side waist and around so that the two ties can be tied together at the left side. They can be tied in combinations that result in a tighter or looser fit. The piece is unlined and made in a full length.  The skirt is cut so that it falls in drapes, quite lovely.  With a few small additions, such as hooks at the neckline, this could easily be worn as a dress.

Age: 1930s

Label: No label

Color: Purple in a bluish tone

Material: Silk velvet

Sizing: No size is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 15 1/4” across, seam-to-seam - note that the outer shoulders fit into the puff at the top of the sleeve

Sleeves: 26” long, from shoulder seam, including puff at top of sleeve

Sleeve Inseam: 20 1/2” long

Bust: 36” around, taken under the arms, depending on tie adjustment - meant to be somewhat loose

Waist:  28” around, depending on tie adjustment

Hips:  Full - 46” around, again, meant to be loose and falling in drapes

Overall length: 61"

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors - there are a few small brownish marks (visible in last close-up photo), but this is quite minor.  The velvet has no pronounced marking.  This has been well cared for and stored over the years

This is an exceptional 1930s dressing gown - beautiful purple color and very soft velvet…..stunning!

No.

This was horribly made and a nightmare to put together. You have to basically bend the bars to get the coverings attached. The sizes don't match. The stickers that label the parts are impossible to remove and if you do get them off theres a lot of residue left behind. On top of that once it was put together I noticed theres a big dirty foot print on it which is definitely not mine.

You have to add weight to it
Color: Coal Black
It does its job and it was easy to put together but it's a little on the flimsy side and it will easily be knocked down. So you're going to have to figure out a way to make the legs heavier? I used cinder blocks, single cinder blocks and it works just fine. Just know that it will knock over super easy

Color: Coal Black
My office is in my loft. But there are things along the wall I don’t want to look at. These work great. Hides what I don’t want to see & is a classy look in the room. Sturdy, easy to assemble, well made.

Great investment, and easy to assemble.
Color: Grey
Excellent dividers for the home. I purchased this set 3 years ago and recently had to place another order because the first order proved to be a perfect accessory in my basement apartment. As previously mentioned, I am in a basement apartment, and with these dividers, I can take an open space and create compartments. After a while, you forget that that open space was once a single room. These options added a great deal to my "Fonshuay," and lifestyle. This is a great investment and it was easy to assemble.
