A glorious rare 1950's sundress in pale yellow polished cotton printed with large-scale florals in ochre, burnt orange, grey, and white — anemones and open blooms with painterly, loosely rendered stems and foliage. By Cole of California, the Los Angeles label best known for its swimwear but equally accomplished in resort and casual daywear throughout the 1950s. The fitted boned bodice has wide adjustable portrait-style straps that fold back softly at the shoulders, a sweetheart neckline and a fully shirred elastic back. The skirt is voluminous and circle-cut, with massive sweep. In excellent condition, clean and ready to wear. The perfect dress for a summer garden party, bridal shower, or outdoor picnic.
