Peter Yates (Summer Holiday, Murphy’s War) directs Albert Finney (Charlie Bubbles), Tom Courtenay (Otley), and Edward Fox (Force 10 from Navarone) in The Dresser, a heart-rending yet darkly humorous tale of life in the theatre. 

During the Second World War, a group of actors take Shakespeare across the industrial north, led by an ageing and imperious actor known only as ‘Sir’ (Finney), against a background of air-raid sirens and exploding bombs. With his mental and physical condition deteriorating, selfless dresser Norman (Courtenay) struggles to ensure that the show – Sir’s 227th performance as King Lear – goes on.

Based on the experiences of screenwriter Ronald Harwood (The Pianist), assistant to legendary Shakespearean actor Sir Donald Wolfit (90° in the Shade), The Dresser is a moving exploration of loyalty and unrequited love.

We ran into a problem though - she keeps getting her lower jaw/teeth stuck between the two arms of the ape. The distance between the fists is just wide enough to allow her teeth through it, but narrow enough that they get stuck and then she starts yelping until she figures out how to free her lower jaw. The first time, I thought it was a fluke. The second time, I took it away and tossed it. Maybe a future design could give more space between the fists.

                        There is nothing that can't be destroyed. The nice thing about dog toys from this company, is that they last a long time. We have 3 dogs 🐕, 2 of them are aggressive cheers. Over time, these dog toys will develop some sharp edges. When the dogs want to play, if they rub that toy on your ankle, it can remove skin. The toy is still intact, but becomes hazardous to the humans in the house. That is when you go back to the Amazon site, and order new toys. Our dogs love these, as they are a challenge to chew. And they do last a long time.

Keeps her teeth nice and shiny while keeping her occupied for hours. When one wears out, we just order a new one. I hate spending big money on dog toys, but these are more affordable and worth the cost!!
