This gorgeous dress is made in starched cotton with the finest of prints featuring a Japanese landscape of Pergolas, deer, trees, flowers and birds. Cut with a sweeping boat neckline, scooped back and fitted bodice. Delicate gathers at the waist are finished with piping and the skirt is full. Unlined and underskirt not included. The cropped jacket is fitted to just above

Original vintage 1950s black Japanese inspired printed cotton dress and jacket.

This gorgeous dress is made in starched cotton with the finest of prints featuring a Japanese landscape of Pergolas, deer, trees, flowers and birds. 

Cut with a sweeping boat neckline, scooped back and fitted bodice.
Delicate gathers at the waist are finished with piping and the skirt is full. 
Unlined and underskirt not included.

The cropped jacket is fitted to just above the waist and fastens with buttons up to a neat collar and trimmed with flat bows. Cap sleeves.

Label: unsigned, dressmaker made

Condition: very good wearable condition, very light wear overall with very slight fading under arms. No major marks or damage of note. Dry Cleaned, Steamed and Ready to Wear.
As with most vintage items, this dress has been previously worn and is over 50 years old.

Ruthie Gilmore's examination of California's prison-industrial complex paints a sobering portrait of the effects of the state's post-industrial decline in the past quarter century. Supplemented by numerous charts, maps, and statistics, Gilmore argues that the massive prison-building project that began in the early 1980s was rooted in earlier developments, namely the failure of the "welfare-warfare state" to absorb the numerous surpluses created by political and economic restructuring.
