Original Edwardian dress from the first decade of the 20th century, likely somewhere between 1905 and 1909), in the most amazing shade of medium purple trending toward plum.

  • Two silk fabrics - one with tiny cream-colored clovers creating a paisley pattern, one solid
  • Two varieties of soft, ecru lace of (either cotton or silk, possibly a blend), one with purple centered flower medallions
  • Bodice, lined in solid cream-colored cotton, has short boning from waist to below bust, all the way around
  • Mancheron styling at upper sleeves, lace lower sleeves with no closure (they have slits for easy on/off)
  • Unlined (because you will be wearing petticoats -- not included) skirt has decorative pleating details, and is longer at back
  • Both pieces close at back with (lots and lots of) hooks&eyes

Shown with Delphine the Mannequin wearing two of my antique petticoats, which are not included.

Labels: none

Fiber/Care: silk with cotton lace and lining / were I keeping it, I would wash it carefully after the first wearing, but I recommend you have it dry-cleaned as needed, and insist it be laundered separately, in a net bag (always clean your antique and vintage garments before storing them away for any lengthy period -- here's why)

Condition: Really good, and excellent for its age (about 115). Comes to you uncleaned, with that "I'm dusty" scent (no mildew, nothing unpleasant), and with various stains on the lower part of the skirt, particularly at the edge (all are inconspicuous, and I suspect most will lift with cleaning, though I make no guarantees). Some of the lace is coming off the top of the collar. There are a few minor, scattered teensy tiny holes, plus stress holes near the topmost skirt hook&eye (as shown in photo collage, but does not show when worn, as it's concealed beneath the bodice cummerbund). Dress is sound and wearable. Do so gently and with care.

Garment Measurements:
 BODICE -
  shoulders: 15"/38cm
  sleeves: 24"/61cm
  bodice length: 17"/43cm
  bust: 34"/86.25cm
  waist: 24"/61cm
 SKIRT -
waist: 24"/61cm (you can move the top eye to gain 1/2", but that's it)
  hips (9" below waist): 42"/106.65cm
length: 42"/ 106.5cm at front, 45.5"/115.5cm at back

The dress is a near-perfect fit on Delphine, who measures b: 33.5", w: 23". Remember, though, she has no give at all. So, if your natural waist is 25" or even possibly 26", this may work for you, depending on how fond you are of breathing. My 26.5-27" waist would NOT fit, even corseted, and I am devastated. Also, Delphine is 6'2" tall, so the dress will likely be longer on you! It is a floor-length skirt.

Our items are not newly manufactured "vintage style" pieces. They are true vintage, at least 30 years old. Please read condition report provided above.

Great Yard Helper!
So easy to use and affordable! This edger is a great time saver, easy to operate, and relatively easy to adjust although you may need a pliers or screwdriver to help with the adjustment levels, but its not difficult. I would have given this 5 stars but just one thing that is a sticking point for me is I wish this had its own stand or hanger because of its odd shape, it doesn't necessarily balance upright too well. It’s long and the guide wheel in the front sticks out. So, it is always awkward to get it tidy in the garage when not in use. Now maybe this is what it's like for landscapers…I’m not a professional. Just a homeowner doing my own upkeep. With what this costs, I’ll figure it out, and is worth the money.

First use was great!
I've used it just the one time today. I had previously "edged" with a string weedwhacker, so while the grass was cut back some, there wasn't a trench dug out. I did a gentle push and pull, taking on about 18" at a time to get a new trench dug next to the sidewalk edge. It did a great job! The entire unit was much heavier and sturdy looking than I was afraid it would be for the price, so pleasantly surprised. Assembly wasn't complicated, but it did take two of us to hold it steady because getting the screws to seat in the square hole and not have the cord in the way was a bit tricky. I'm a 70+ lady, not large and not athletic, but I was able to handle this edger with ease. Now, to see how long it lasts!

Initially defective poor quality
This item was initially defective and I needed one so I ordered another thinking it was a fluke. Both devices would not turn on. The second one briefly turned on for about 30 seconds and died. The major inconveniences that I can't return it in the normal way. I have to bring it to UPS and there isn't one near my house. I am very disappointed with this item and also with the return policy

Came in skeptical, but it's GREAT!
I read all the bad reviews I could on this thing and considered it an acceptable risk considering the price. Assembly was easy and the instructions were fair. Not amazing, but once you handle the edger, the gist is clear. I was skeptical overall that the horsepower and plastic guard weren't going to be enough. I ran it for nearly 45min stopping every 5 or so to check the blade and guard. It stayed tight and I was able to manually turn the blade to make sure it was working right. My front yard and sidewalk have been neglected for a few years. I would sometimes edge it out with the weed Wacker, but couldn't get it as clean as I wanted without breaking a LOT of line. When I was done, I noticed the guard had a lot of soil and grass buildup that I was able to take out easily with my fingers. There were a few times I scraped the sidewalk edge, but the blade is still solid and ready for more! I was surprised at the quality and as you're going over an area, it feels solid and not squirly or out of control. My uses are going to be mostly suburban maintenance on my own yard. If I had more land or something bigger, I would consider something larger. For my yard and purposes, this edger is going to work just fine! Did not notice any issues with the blade getting loose, but stayed aware of it. There is a lock nut that keeps it in place. I imagine over time and switching blades, this is going to lose its locking function, but I already see amazon has replacement blades that come with new lock nuts!
