The kimono that sends rising steam up through deep blue

There's an ancient Japanese motif called tatewaku — 'rising steam' — wavy vertical lines that suggest heat shimmering or vapour climbing, once reserved for nobility. This men's kimono takes its name from it: undulating vertical waves and round floral medallions in pale tones, rising up a deep blue robe. A subtle pattern with a quietly noble history.

The motif rewards a closer look. The wavy lines ripple gently up the length of the robe, broken here and there by round floral medallions, all printed in muted pale blue against the deep ground so the effect is calm and atmospheric — like watching heat haze rise. It's understated and refined, pattern that suggests rather than declares.

It's a full-length kimono, worn crossed left over right and tied at the waist with the included obi — here a soft grey that sits gently against the blue. The floor-length cut and wide sleeves carry the rising-steam lines in a long, flowing vertical, lending the robe a tall, dignified grace.

Wear it as a summer yukata over a light layer, or as an elegant robe at home. The deep blue and subtle tatewaku motif make it versatile and quietly distinguished, a pattern with genuine historical pedigree — a piece for someone who likes their elegance understated and their motifs meaningful.

This is for the person who wants a subtle, noble motif — rising-steam waves on deep blue — with the obi included. Wear it crossed and tied with the obi, over a light layer. True to size, in M, L or XL by height.

Just what I wanted.
Color: Black, Navy Blue, Wine Red, Size: 5X-Large
These may have just become my standard shirt to wear. Feels good whether tucked or out. Drapes well and fits well. So far, I can see it adjust to the different undershirt I may wear. Will probably order another set in other colors and a back up set of the basics because they will get worn a lot.

Its alright
Color: Black, Size: 5X-Large
True to size per the size chart. The fabric is soft but it it feels cheap to me. It attracts lint but you can brush it off easily so its not the cheapest material I've dealt with. Also, it is opaque (not see through). There is no front/ back indicator either which is indicative of a cheap shirt in my opinion. Would be friendly for tag sensitive people (to stay positive).

Fuzzballs get wearing once
Color: Black, Size: X-Large
Very smart to wear, but the quality is terrible so after one wash the collar start fraying and fuzzballs start forming. Very disappointing.

Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
Color: Green/Black
I love this watch despite the fact that it is really a toy. I love the look of the watch, I love how lite the weight of the watch is on my wrist, and it really does keep good time if you manage the solar charge properly. Other than looking cool on your wrist, this watch has absolutely no functions other than time keeping. The black plastic bezel is molded into the case and does not turn, so don't plan on using that. The watch has no light, the dial numbers are non-luminous and the hands are very limited in terms of luminosity. No buttons. All you can do is adjust the time and date by pulling out what used to be a winding stem in the good old days. The small tag on the strap with Geographic coordinates shown on it indicate the location of the old Timex manufacturing facility (SW of Waterbury, CT). I have a nice ledge at my bedroom window and it gets good western sun for a good part of the day regardless of the time of year. On this ledge you will find a half dozen solar powered watches (mostly Casio) properly aligned to maximize the charge they may receive each day. Note that the description for this Timex watch specifically states that a lightbulb won't charge this watch. You need direct sunlight for several hours if you want to get more than a 3-week charge into this watch. So, I'll leave you with a couple of tips, my friends; 1.) If you are looking for a first watch to give your outdoorsy oriented Son or Daughter, then give them this one. Why? Because it is cool looking, fairly well built, and it actually works, 2.) After you receive your Timex watch, be sure to keep the display mount it is packaged with. It makes a great fixture to mount your watch on for charging and allows you to maximize the position of the solar cells on the dial so that you can optimize charging time. Have Fun! Jimmy
