Sky blue satin, statement puff sleeves, round neckline, open back with tie detail, relaxed midi length — the ROTATE Birger Christensen Duddi is R5,700 of Copenhagen occasionwear, rented for R1,189.

ROTATE Birger Christensen is the Copenhagen label that redefined what a party dress looks like — built on Scandinavian precision, conscious fabrication, and a distinctly modern understanding of occasion dressing. The Duddi Puff-Sleeve Midi is one of their most recognisable silhouettes: lustrous sky-blue satin with a soft, fluid drape, dramatic sculptural puff sleeves that make an immediate architectural statement, and a clean round neckline at the front that gives way to an unexpected and elegant open back with a delicate tie fastening. The relaxed midi skirt falls with effortless movement. Bold enough to be noticed, considered enough to be memorable.

At R1,189 against a R5,700 retail price, this is premium Danish designer dressing at a fraction of the cost.

The details:

  • Lustrous sky-blue satin with a soft, fluid drape
  • Dramatic statement puff sleeves — sculptural, architectural, and completely distinctive
  • Clean round neckline — minimalist and modern at the front
  • Open back with delicate tie fastening — the unexpected finishing detail
  • Relaxed fluid fit through the body — effortless and comfortable
  • Midi-length skirt with graceful movement
  • Premium Scandinavian construction — ROTATE's signature considered quality
  • Perfect for cocktail events, garden weddings, formal celebrations, corporate occasions, and any event that calls for fashion-forward elegance

Size + Fit: Size M (UK 10–12), true to size with a relaxed, fluid fit that drapes softly through the body. The puff sleeves are structured and hold their shape — they create volume at the shoulder that balances the fluid skirt beautifully. The open back with tie fastening allows for some adjustment. Pair with simple block-heeled or strappy sandals; the sleeves are the statement — jewellery should be minimal.

Satin may crease in transit — hang on arrival and the fabric will fall back into shape beautifully.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo
