This is yet another piece from that same estate that produced an important Worth cape and the woman who owned these pieces was both wealthy and well travelled. This is a wonderful bias cut, hand screened silk chiffon flapper dress. The color is slightly more vibrant in person but the overall effect is soft and romantic - almost dreamy!† The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary - it actually used curved seams where the panels are inserted to create the shape! I cannot even imagine working with the fabric ot do that! A romantic caped bodice tops the almost weightless panelled skirting. The entire dress floats and moves with the barest of movement on your part. The edges are rolled and cross stitched. It is extraordinarily lovely and still strong and wearable with care. These where meant to float over a smaller frame so I have listed it as SML-MED but it is flexible in terms of size. A truly beautiful dress and in excellent condition!

Bodice: approx 18 from shoulder to dropped waist
Skirt: approx 33" from the dropped waist to bottom hem
The dress is fully lined with a pink crepe silk that feels like it was hand washed at some point but is strong and stable. The upper bodice is lined in netting. It slips over the head and has an attached waist with a jeweled clasp. Hand rolled edges and hand finished. It is in what I would consider excellent shape with no real flaws to note. Please remember that pieces of this age will have a natural patina and should not be expected to be absolutely perfect (though this is close)! It is after all almost 100 years old!

Doesn't last

This grinder appeared to work great and is one of the few ceramic options available. Unfortunately, the ceramic grinder has already broken inside, detaching from the bottle altogether. There are probably tiny plastic pieces in my leftover peppercorns. Don't buy it unless you want to purchase it every few months, which is unfortunate.

Very nice, work well, good gift at a reasonable price

I've owned a few different brands and types of grinders before, and these are quite similar. The last set I purchased had the exact same grinder heads, just on smaller glass bottoms. The grinders on those became, unfortunately, unusable due to clogging that resulted in breakage of the ceramic gear. I worry that, since these new grinders have the same heads on them, that these won't last longer than the last set. However, I read reviews of the "best" grinders out there, and these came just behind a more (much more) expensive set with metal gears instead of ceramic. They'd last longer, you might think, however, it was also mentioned that salt corrodes metal and so that's why the vast majority of grinders, mostly intended for use with salt, are made of ceramic. So why would I spend five times the price on the expensive ones?
So far, I'm very pleased with this set. They're much more comfortable to use than my previous set, which had way smaller glass bases. I can really get a good grip on these. The little "dial" on the bottom, to adjust the coarseness of the grind, moves very smoothly on these. It was so difficult to turn the dials on the previous set - and mind you, these are exactly the same as the new ones - that I had to use a pair of pliers to turn them. Strange. I see this identical grinding mechanism on several of the grinders available on Amazon, so it makes sense to assume they're all sourced from the same manufacturer by different vendors.
These also hold about twice the amount as my previous set - not a major hassle to refill, but nice not to have to bother with it as often. Quite elegant looking, too. The set comes with a nifty metal holder with prongs on either side that the grinders snap into place securely for transport from kitchen to dining table. They're inexpensive enough that you can easily afford to buy two sets for each end of your table. That's a nice touch if you're having several dinner guests or a large family, so you don't have to pass the salt and pepper around.
I guess the $100 set with the metal gears might last longer, even with inevitable salt corrosion, but these will likely last a good long while with their ceramic gears and, if they do break down sooner, at least you could buy four or five of these sets for the same price. I recommend this set.

Love, Love, Love

THIS SET, I LOVE! Absolutely love. When you buy something that you can't see and physically touch- You're always rolling the dice And whether or not you'll like what you receive..
I have bought a few grinder sets in the past, use for a bit and then toss, and back to buy another.
This set is a keeper! It washed well, was easy to fill with a wider mouth opening and the grider worked perfectly. I also like having the ability of changing the coarseness, as our household members have different preferences. Looks nice on my table, and the stand was an added bonus. The size is large enough to not have to refill as often but not to big to look out of place. A good price, they look nice, nice grip and durability. I will be buying a couple more sets as gifts to those that have been here for dinner and mentioned that like them as well. I have no 'cons' to list on the product. I love everything about it. Look no further- you'll be pleasantly pleased.

Great value for the money the set works very nicely

This is a nice set of Peppermill and salt grinder. The capacity is very nice and it is easy to clean. It’s made of sturdy glass and the top is a very nice stainless. It’s the perfect size for my hands and it distributes a very nicely, ground pepper and salt. I had to switch the salt and pepper from one shaker to another because one was not grinding the peppercorns, but when I switched it to the other, they both worked fine.

Easy to use, pepper doesn't get stuck

I'm never going back to an electric grinder again!!! I like my pepper on the fine side - I don't like to bite into a chunk of peppercorn. With those electric grinders, the peppercorns get stuck and the motors don't have enough 'oompf' to plow through. This handy dandy grinder absolutely does! I'm able to easily adjust the size of the grind and the mechanism is smooth and easy to handle. The shape feels good in my hand and the 1/2 cup container is a great size. You don't have to refill it too often. Between the shape of the grinders and the holder, I feel it looks nice on my table. I couldn't be more pleased!!
