This special edition Iris hand painted silk dressing gown is one of simplicity imbued with a bit of glamour in a robe, and is part of a special collection designed for Wear Lacma, an art and fashion project featuring unique edition pieces created by Los Angeles's designers and inspired by the museum's permanent collection and exhibitions. The elegant wrap style allows for the ties to be in the back or the front. Each garment is completely unique, and hand painted by Liseanne. The motif is based on an early 20th century Japanese watercolor of a Banana Tree in Rain. The slit sides add a bit of drama in motion, as the back flares out in a lovely way. The slit sleeves allow the wearer to easily move through the morning, while keeping them safely out of the way.

Iris is the Greek goddess of the Rainbow, and the personification of what was believed to be the goddesses dress. She had golden wings attached at the shoulder, and winged sandals on her feet.
