Savage Gear's sublime ''sandeel'' perfectly imitates one of the sea trout's favorite prey: sandeel, sand eel, sand eel - dear child has many names. And the trout love it regardless.
Sandeel is abundant in the summer months around Funen, but trout are happy to take it all year round. The bait's versatility and enticing gait nicely imitate a foraging or fleeing sandeel. The bait may - seen from below through the eyes of the sea trout - also resemble a sprat or herring in its movement pattern. When spin-stopped, it sinks rocking towards the bottom - no trout can do that.
We carry Savage Gear Sandeel in 15 grams and 19 grams. We clearly prefer it as a runner, and we paint it in a few successful color patterns that we use ourselves all year round.
SG Sandeel is for us absolutely indispensable on a coastal trip for sea trout.
