The X-Mid Solid is the newest member of the Award winning X-Mid lineup from Durston Gear. The X-Mid Solid builds on the success of the original, now outfitted for use in more challenging environments with a 15D woven fabric instead of mesh for most of the inner. For adventurers who get out in any conditions, this is your tent.
The Solid version of the X-Mid shares the same key advantages as the regular X-Mid: spacious, simple pitch, robust weather protections, et al. Where the Solid differs is the use of 15D woven fabric in place of mesh for most of the inner, providing even more protection against tough weather – blocking drafts, snow, sand, and heavy downpours. But the solid wall is only part of the material upgrades.

SIMPLE, EFFICIENT, INNOVATIVE DESIGN:
Designed to be the best double-wall shelter supported by trekking poles, the X-Mid achieves its impressive specs through an innovative design with a diagonal inner inside a rectangular-based fly. This allows the poles (not included with X-Mid purchase) and peaks to be moved inwards from the edges without interfering with doors and living space, eliminating vertical, wind-catching walls and the need for peak guyouts. The tent is made of 20D polyester with a 2500mm sil/PEU coating. Tested under extreme lab conditions simulating 1.5 months of continuous high winds and heavy rains, the fabric still came out above 1500mm.
The unique shape solves the common issues seen in trekking-pole-supported tents: Most are single-trekking-pole pyramids, which lack headroom, or overly complex designs, which are tedious to pitch. The X-Mid, on the other hand, offers a generous living space with dual doors and an easy setup using four stakes and no guylines. All told, it’s simpler, roomier, and more functional than its competitors—and at just 29 ounces, it’s lighter, too.

THE NITTY GRITTY:
The peak features 210d black nylon used to form a reinforcing cone, along with a quarter-inch grommet for the trekking pole tip. Vents on each side wall consists of overlapping panels of fabric that can be propped apart with a strut. In tough conditions, the peak and side panel guylines can be deployed, along with eight additional reinforced stake points around the perimeter. The inner uses a unique parallelogram shape to take full advantage of the area inside the fly. In addition to accommodating even tall hikers, this shape provides protected area for gear storage at both ends. It also features dual ridgeline pockets, which conveniently hold a headlamp for reading, provide a secure area for valuables, and keep important items in close reach during the night. Finally, the fly uses tough #5 AquaGuard zippers to ensure a long life, even in tough conditions.

Pup loves this!

My pup loves his soccer balls. These are very durable although if you have a dog that doesn't grasp the concept of using the loops/straps to carry it, teeth could puncture it. They are a good value for the money if your dog likes to chase the ball, I get the smaller size ball for my dog (medium dog). They come with a pump but if you have a bicycle pump or a battery operated pump, it will fill much faster. Ours stay outside and even in the winter, they hold up well, just need a bit more air occasionally to keep it pumped up.

Well that didn't last long!

He loved it for the 15 minutes it took to destroy it! Cute design, but the material was thin enough to penetrate with his teeth and it was all over in a very short time! He still carries the carcass around and tries to play with it...it's sad. Definitely not for strong chewers.

Decent ball

Context: I have a busy, anxious Corgi.
I like that it came with a pump to air it up.
My dog likes the tag feature on it which made the ball easy to carry. She chewed off the tags pretty quick.
She didn’t like herding this one as much. She prefers herding a basketball over this ball.
The ball sits in the backyard through all the weather and elements and has held up pretty well. We’ve had it about a year and it’s still a good toy.

Easily Ripped apart within minutes

I have a new foster who’s only 35 pounds not an aggressive chewer and loves to play with my dogs rooster soccer ball toy but the ball itself is a little big for her to get her teeny little mouth around when she’s trying to carry and run with it this happened to pop up on my feed a size smaller (medium, instead of large ) and available for next day delivery, so I bought it specifically for the little dog to play with. I gave it to her to play outside while my hound is busy playing with one of her toys I went about watering the garden, when I turned around a few minutes later, I saw the ball appeared to be completely flattened. As I walked over, I saw pieces of black rubber on the ground, and then the rest of the ball had a gaping hole in it. The rooster version of the ball that I bought from another seller has been going strong for months with multiple dogs playing with it and chewing on it and ripping the side ribbons apart so either I got a defective toy or the quality of manufacturer from this seller is much lower since the durability of the ball seems to be less than an hour.
