Upgrade your BMW gear change with the Storm Motorwerks V2 Gearknob. Precision machined from stainless steel billet and inspired by the iconic E30 M3, this weighted short shift gear knob delivers smoother, more precise gear changes and an OEM look that suits daily driving and track use. Perfect for BMW E46 M3, E9X M3, E39 M5, Z3 and Z4 owners looking for a premium BMW gear knob upgrade with a shorter throw and a solid, mechanical feel.
Why choose the Storm Motorwerks V2 Gearknob
- Weighted stainless steel design for smooth, precise, confidence-inspiring shifts
- Shorter than stock height to reduce throw and quicken shifts
- OEM style shape for a factory look with performance feel
- Premium materials and finish options to match your interior
Weighted for precision
The Storm Motorwerks V2 weighs just over 450 g. That extra mass significantly reduces the typical notchiness of BMW manual transmissions, improving shift accuracy and delivering a satisfying, solid engagement. The transformation over the standard gear knob is immediate and addictive.
Size and shape
Modelled on the classic OEM E30 M3 gear knob shape, the V2 is almost an inch shorter. The reduced height helps achieve a shorter throw for faster, cleaner gear changes while maintaining a timeless OEM aesthetic that looks right at home in any BMW interior.
Finish and emblem options
- Finish: Brushed stainless steel or titanium plated for a dark gunmetal grey look
- Emblems: 5-speed OEM style or 6-speed OEM style
Compatibility and popular fitments
Fits a wide range of BMW manual models including E36, E46, E90, Z3 and Z4. Especially popular as a performance gear knob upgrade for:
- BMW E46 M3 gear knob upgrade
- BMW E9X M3 gear knob upgrade E90 E92 E93
- BMW E39 M5 weighted gear knob

If you are unsure about compatibility with your BMW manual transmission, get in touch and we will help.
