AGV K1 S Rossi Winter Test 2017 Helmet

K1 S is the road helmet that comes out of AGV’s experience in MotoGP™, suitable for a range of uses on any route.

The aerodynamic shape of its shell made of high-resistance thermoplastic material, the front air vents developed through racing experience and the new Aero Spoiler designed in the wind tunnel maximize performance and provide stability even at high speeds in sports riding.

The Ultravision scratch-resistant panoramic visor offers a wider lateral and vertical view, for total control of the surrounding environment. Uncompromising comfort, due to the soft, removable and washable Dry-Comfort interior.

The AGV Extreme Safety construction protocol means that K1 S meets the requirements of the stringent ECE22.06 standard and then some.

AGV K1 S is prepared for the installation of communication systems.

Shell:

  • HIR-TH (High Resistance Thermoplastic Resin) shell construction
  • 2 shell sizes, 4 EPS sizes

Shield:

  • XQRS (X-tra Quick Release System) visor mechanism for tool-free removal and replacement of the face shield in seconds
  • Scratch-resistant and anti-fog polycarbonate face shield 
  • 100% UV protection
  • 2 shield sizes
    • GT 2-1 for helmet sizes XS, SM and MD and GT 2 for sizes LG, XL and 2XL
  • Micro-opening visor

Ventilation:

  • Integrated Ventilation System (IVS) was designed and optimized in a wind tunnel
  • 5 front vents (3 at the forehead and 2 on the chin guard)
  • 2 rear extractors vents built into spoiler

Interior:

  • Fully removable and washable 3D inner liner and cheek pads
  • Liner and cheek pads are sanitized and made from Dry-Lex fabrics

Safety:

  • DOT approved
  • ECE 22.06  certified
  • Helmet profile contoured around the base to reduce the risk of collar bone injuries
  • Double-D ring chin strap

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
