⚖️ Grand Arbiter Stax – Azorius Stax & Control Commander Deck (EDH, 100 Cards) – Lock Down the Table, Win on Your Terms 🕊️
Welcome to a slower, more elegant form of Magic. Grand Arbiter Augustin IV doesn’t just play the game—he redefines it. This deck is a classic Azorius (blue/white) stax-control build that taxes your opponents into submission while you glide toward a win condition they can barely react to.
🧊 Strategy Overview
Grand Arbiter makes your spells cheaper and your opponents’ spells more expensive. That’s an immediate 2–3 mana swing in tempo per turn—and that adds up fast. This deck weaponizes time and control.
Tax & Deny:
Cards like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, Rule of Law, and God-Pharaoh’s Statue all stack up to shut down the table.
Control the Board:
Classic sweepers like Austere Command, Time Wipe, and Cleansing Nova clear threats. Counterspells like Mana Leak and Absorb keep key pieces safe.
Card Advantage Engine:
Windborn Muse, The Council of Four, and Dream Tides help you stay ahead while opponents fall behind.
🔒 Commander Identity: Azorius Control / Stax
Commander: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV
Theme: Stax, Control, Tax, Denial
Win Conditions:
Approach of the Second Sun – Wins by itself with stall support
Azor’s Elocutors – Alternate win through peacekeeping
Hatebears with flyers – Drain life totals while holding the board
🔧 Key Synergies
Grand Arbiter + Thorn of Amethyst = Hard mode for everyone but you
Stenn, Paranoid Partisan + Cheap Spells = Turbo value
Rule of Law + Taxes = One spell per turn? Better make it count.
Rest in Peace + Damping Sphere = Graveyard and combo denial
Approach of the Second Sun = Guaranteed inevitability in long games
