This Magic: The Gathering playmat features an alternative interpretation of Serra Angel by Douglas Shuler, inspired by the iconic artwork originally associated with Limited Edition Alpha.
The composition presents the angel in a more modern, character-focused style, seated with sword in hand and framed by large feathered wings. The soft lighting, flowing hair, and dramatic pose give the piece a very different feel from the original card art, making it especially interesting for collectors who appreciate artist-driven reinterpretations of classic early Magic subjects.
- 🪽 Card / subject: Serra Angel
- 🖌️ Artist: Douglas Shuler
- 📦 Inspired by: Limited Edition Alpha-era Serra Angel artwork
- ✍️ Signed by the artist
- 📏 Approx. size: 35 × 60 cm
- ✨ Alternative artist interpretation with a more dramatic, character-centric presentation
Please note that, since we may have multiple signed copies available, the signature placement and color may vary from the shown in the picture. The signature may occasionally also be accompanied by a date and location. This only adds to the provenance and further proves authenticity.
This signed version stands out as a more unusual Serra Angel collectible, combining direct artist provenance with a reinterpretation of one of Magic’s most recognizable early icons.
