Both models work seamlessly with any trout rod (1-4wt rods recommended) and are perfect for backcountry fishing with their compact, low-profile design.
The Stingers are designed for skilled tight line anglers who don't use their drag system. Anglers who know how to set fast and “strip” the trout in a fight without letting it run.
The Stinger Comp, weighing only 39 grams (1.4 oz), is the lightest fly reel on the market. It’s injection-molded from a proprietary nylon/carbon composite material that’s virtually unbreakable, ensuring durability for rugged environments.
The Stinger M1 is CNC-machined from billet 6-series aluminum and finished with Type 3 MIL-SPEC hard anodizing for exceptional durability. Weighing 48 grams (1.7 oz), the M1 is also exceptionally light, with adjustable components for custom ergonomics and line compatibility. With options like a 6mm Spool Riser Kit, anglers can further customize their reel setup.
Stingers are made for lightweight Euro nymph lines only. Both reels come pre-loaded with our Tracer 62 Euro-nymph line/leader system—just add your tippet and flies. Designed and made in the USA with a patent pending, the Stinger Comp and M1 offer ultimate utility for any dedicated tight line angler.
