The Ocelot 6 Windscreen by Flat Cat Gear is a compact partial wrap windscreen designed to enhance fuel efficiency for canister-top stoves on windy days. While all stoves benefit from a windscreen, canister-top stoves are particularly vulnerable to wind, and the Ocelot 6 Windscreen provides an innovative solution.
This windscreen encircles the pot in just under a 180° wrap to protect the burner from the wind. This design requires that the cook system be oriented so that the windscreen faces the wind. The kit disassembles and will easily nest inside mugs as small as the MSR Titan Kettle (850 ml) or Snow Peak Trek 700 Pot.
Using a windscreen with a canister stove requires careful spacing to prevent overheating of the fuel. Traditional solutions have often been bulky and heavy. The Ocelot System redefines this approach with a lightweight, packable windscreen that fits inside your cooking pot or mug. It shields the burner head from wind while ensuring proper airflow and allowing the isobutane canister to stay cool.
