A truly beautiful plant, the Philodendron Micans features velvety deep-green leaves, which shimmer between deep purple and rusty orange in the light. No wonder it's name, 'Micans', translates to "glittering, twinkling, flashing" — pretty magical indeed!

Fun Fact: In the wild, the adult leaves of the Philodendron Scandans can measure 4 to 16 inches in length. Without venturing to the rain forests of Central and South America, it's a leaf size few of us "house plant" parents will ever see. A fully grown specimen from the forest will also lose that signature velvet texture, making it an even greater departure from the small version we know as a houseplant.

Geography: Central America

🪴 Each plant is unique: depending on the season the size and shape may vary.

Bowlby Books
Format: Paperback
As an MFT graduate student, first hand accounts are important. For the price, add depth to your research writing as the theory intended. Bowlby makes separation axiety, child anger and anger clear. This is a good read even for those who are not in a clinical field. Worth a lot more too me than I paid.

Another piece to the triology offered by Bowlby
Format: Paperback
As with Bowlbys' other works, this classic furthers the hypothesis of negative emotional influence on the continued development of humans as we integrate with our social environments. I liked it...in fact, liked all of Bowlbys' writings.

Hurrah for Jon Bowlby
Format: Paperback
Early work by someone who offered a contrast to Freud and who led the way to understanding the needs of young children. A cornerstone of most of the work of therapists today.
