Germination Guide:

  • Sow in Spring or Autumn
  • Prepare pots/trays of moist seed compost mixed with vermiculite to improve drainage
  • Firm compost then scatter seeds over surface
  • Lightly cover the seeds with an even layer of sharp sand
  • Losely cover with a plastic bag 
  • Autumn sown seeds should be overwintered in a cold frame or greenhouse
  • Germination occurs at 16-20c and is naturally erratic
  • Pot on to individual posts once large enough to handle - when have two pairs of true leaves
  • Plant out in late April to May
